Smile How to fix Itune 3194 Error

    What iTunes Error 3194 Mean

Whenever you restore a stock or custom IPSW of any firmware on your iDevice, iTunes request Apple servers to sign the IPSW with the ECID (Exclusive Chip ID) of your iDevice which is called SHSH Blob. As soon as new firmware gets released, Apple stops signing your ECID for old firmwares which result in iTunes 3194 error.

How to Fix it while doing clean restore(updating)?

1: Use latest iTune's,Download from Here.

    2nd Method:

    • In TinyUmbrella there is an option in the "Advanced" tab to "Set Hosts to Cydia on Exit" uncheck this box cause This will allow iTunes to talk to Cydia's cache server rather than Apples cache server.
    • Try to restore.

    3rd Method:
    • Quit iTunes
    • Locate your hosts file, in Mac OS X this is /etc/hosts and in Windows this is c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
    • Open the hosts file with Administrator privileges
    • Remove the following lines to the very bottom of the hosts file:
    • 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com
    • Connect your iPhone to the computer
    • Launch iTunes
    • Do Restore

How to Fix it while Downgrading Firmware(using Blobs)?

1: Use latest iTune's,Download from Here.

    2nd Method:
    • In TinyUmbrella there is an option in the "Advanced" tab to "Set Hosts to Cydia on Exit" check this box,This will allow iTunes to talk to Cydia's cache server rather than Apples cache server.
    • Put the iPhone/iPad/iPod into DFU mode by turning the phone off and then holding down the sleep and power button for 10 seconds, then release the power button but hold onto the home button until iTunes tells you that the device is now in recover/DFU mode
    • Try to restore.

    3rd Method:
    • Quit iTunes
    • Locate your hosts file, in Mac OS X this is /etc/hosts and in Windows this is c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
    • Open the hosts file with Administrator privileges
    • Add the following lines to the very bottom of the hosts file:
    • 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com
    • Connect your iPhone to the computer
    • Launch iTunes
    • Put the iPhone/iPad/iPod into DFU mode by turning the phone off and then holding down the sleep and power button for 10 seconds, then release the power button but hold onto the home button until iTunes tells you that the device is now in recover/DFU mode
    • Use the iTunes Restore feature as usual with the iOS device

Once your iOS Restore is finished, remove the “74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com” line from your hosts file again so that iTunes can properly update as usual. If you need them, you can get iPhone firmware, iPad firmware, and iPod touch firmware directly from Apple.

You’re just trying to update the firmware but iTunes keeps throwing up this error. In most cases, it’s because of a simple problem with the hosts file.
